If we have loved the Island of Gods, the pearl of Indonesia, which has had such great tourist success for many years now, we can't deny that it is suffering for its fame. The environment is deteriorating year by year, mainly due to the plague of plastic which is everywhere and which the government does nothing about. Rubbish is not treated and the plastic remains.

Denpasar is clearly not my favourite city in Bali , far from it, it is a big city of practically one million inhabitants in the midst of the luxuriant garden that is the island. Personally, I did not spend much time there, apart from passing through it by motorcycle, preferring to leave the city quickly to go and appreciate the surrounding scenery. Nevertheless, the island's capital deserves for you to make a stop here, at least to visit Bali Museum, for a walk in Puputan park, to see Pura Jagatnatha and Pura Maospahit temples or again Puri Pemecutan palace. Denpasar city probably being the one by which you will arrive <a href="/indonesia/"> during your stay in Bali </a>, I leave you to form your own opinion!

Just like Kuta , Denpasar is a compulsory passage <a href="/indonesia/"> in your Indonesian itinerary. </a> This city is full of tourists, very noisy, crawling with people and can prove to be quite tiring.
I only stayed there one day just to get an idea of the atmosphere that holds sway in the Balinese capital. I went to Pasar Badung, the biggest market in Bali. The manager of my guest house after explaining to me that it was full of tourists in the morning and evening, advised that I go in the afternoon to be able to take my time wandering through the alleys and bargain unhurriedly with the traders. 
I also visited the national Bali Museum, located next to the big Puputan Square. It was built in 1910 and is divided into four buildings; I got a chance to learn Balinese history in detail and to admire the museum's architecture, composed of pavilions, gardens and temple doors.

Denpasar is the economic and administrative capital of Bali.
