You will be part of a bike tour in Divjake, a hike in Llogara National Park, will kayak along the beautiful Albanian Riviera, and do canyoning in Langarica. The National Park of Divjaka will be your first stop of the day. You have the chance to go for a ride into the forest and also watch rare kinds of pelicans in the Karavasta Lagoon, such as the curly pelican.
Vlora is known as the city where Albania was declared independent in 1920. You can learn more about this major event of Albanian history by visiting the Independence Museum of Vlora.
Tirana to Divjaka, 1h 20 min: Cycling in Divjaka National Park. Cycling for two-three hours to explore the park. Divjaka.
Divjaka to Vlora, 1h 30 min.
You head towards Llogara park today. Located in the upper part of the Dukati Valley, Llogara National Park of 1,000 hectares consists mainly of coniferous forests, which provides an interesting contrast to the Mediterranean landscapes that are found nearby. You hike towards "Qafa e Thellë" where a magnificent view of the turquoise water of the Ionian Sea will accompany you throughout the hike. You will have the opportunity to cross beautiful dense forests composed of trees of 1200m altitude until the arrival at "Qafa e Thellë".
Vlore to Llogara, 55 min: Hike “Qafa e Thelle”. Hike for 3-4 hours with an altitude difference of 400m +/- and level 1 of difficulty. National park of Llogara.
Today you will drive until you reach the village and the beach of Dhermi. Then you prepare to paddle with kayaks to the beautiful bay of Gjipe. You reach your destination after around 1 hour of kayaking. On the way you have the possibility to stop at the Cave of Pirates. Then you will continue towards the bay of Gjipe. This is a small bay without any construction where you can also take a short walk to the canyon to discover the wildness of the nature.
Llogara to Dhermi, 35 min - Kayaking: From Dhermi Beach to Bay of Gjipe with kayaks which is a 1h-1h30 around 3.5km.
Bay of Gjipe, Pirates cave - Canyoning and hiking: Exploration of the canyon in Gjipe for about 1-2h. Canyon of Gjipe.
After spending the night under the stars in Gjipe, you continue kayaking to another beach of the Albanian riviera, to Himara. During the afternoon, you relax by the crystal-clear water of the Ionian Sea in Himara town.
Activities: Kayaking From Gjipe to Himara town 3h-4h around 9km - Himara.
You drive towards the old village of Qeparo. This village is one of the most beautiful ones in the Albanian Riviera. It is 250 meters above the sea level and it offers great views. Typical small houses, olive trees and the Ionian coast complete a typical Mediterranean environment. Later on, you head towards the last and furthest beaches of the riviera, the ones in Saranda.
Himara to Qeparo, 25 min: Hike for 3-4 hours in Qeparo. Difference in altitude: 300 m +/ –. Easy hike and wonderful views. Qeparo.
You start today with rafting at the Vjosa river in Permet, that happens to be the last wild river in Europe too. Later on, you visit the city considered the one of flowers. The mountainous landscape that lines the road is considered as one of the natural pearls of Albania. Local craftsmen and artisans display crystallized fruits, brandies, embroideries and many other goods during your visit.
Sarande to Permet, 2h20 - Rafting: Exploration of Vjosa River, a class III rafting and has a level of difficulty (1-5) 2 .Vjosa River.
Visit of local products in fabrics, local houses and shops - Taste local products such as Gliko, Jam, Raki - Permet.
You leave Permet today and head to the marvelous Benja, well known for the thermal curative waters. Not only this but the views and landscape during your exploration will be amazing and unforgettable. In Benja you may also visit the Canyon of Langarica and do some canyoning. Then you will continue towards the village of Rehova. This is a village well known for its expertise in food. You will have the opportunity to spend a nice time with its habitants, cook with them and spend a night in this village.
Permet to Benje, 20 min: Benja Thermal Waters: Relaxing and bathing in the natural pools - Benja.
Canyon of Langarica : Explore the canyon by hiking for about 2-3hours.Langarice, Permet.
Benje to Rehova, 2h 30 min: Rehova village: Cooking traditional Albanian dishes with local products while getting to know an Albanian family.
Voskopoja lies in a beautiful landscape surrounded by high hills and fern forests. This area has many natural resources like valleys and plateaus, slopes and massive areas of forests mainly from pine, beech and oak. It has an altitude of 1200 m, above the sea level. Founded in the 16th century, Voskopoja by the 18th century was a major urban settlement housing the Academy, a center dedicated to the development of culture and education. Today, five Byzantine churches and a monastery from the original twenty-two that were built when Voskopoja was a major settlement are testimony to this grand period. You can do a hike of 3 hours here.
The town of Pogradec is located by the shores of the Ohrid Lake. Besides that, this Lake is one of the oldest and deepest and is also listed in the UNESCO, there is a special fish which grows only in this lake. The green area of the promenade of this town and the blue water of the Lake makes this region very pleasant.
Departure to reach the village of Pellumbas and then hike to reach the cave. The Pellumbas Cave, also known as the Black Cave, is valued by specialists as one of Albania's most valuable archaeological sites. In this cave are found skeletons which belong to the cave bear who lived from 10,000 to 400,000 years ago. The cave is about 360 m long, 10 to 15 m wide and 15 to 45 m high, filled with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. A city since 1614 and the capital of Albania since 1920, Tirana is the country's main cultural hub. You will be able to discover a city famous for the colorful facades of its buildings and the harmony between the various religions in the country. The visit of the National Museum located on Skanderbeg Square will be a nice introduction to the rich Albanian history!
Close to this square, you will be able to see the mosque "Et'hem Bey", which has been preserved even during the communist era for its historical value, the opera, the clock tower and the palace of culture. You discover then the pyramid (the Museum of the former dictator, Enver Hoxha), the superb Orthodox Cathedral as well as the Catholic Cathedral. Not to forget to also discover the busy nightlife with numerous bars and restaurants!
