Sea turtle in the Galapagos Islands
The natural history of this archipelago is very remarkable: it seems to be a little world within itself.

Blue footed boobies on the Galapagos Islands
San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos
Marine iguana on the Galapagos Islands
'Travel Bucket List' classics
  • The playful sea lions on the Galapagos are a sight to see! You can snorkel or scuba dive with them around the islands.
  • Of all the amazing birdlife in the Galapagos Islands, the colorful blue footed boobies are the ones that amaze us the most.
  • San Cristobal Island provides a huge array of activities, from hiking to lagoon tours and a giant tortoise center. You can also take a flight over it!
  • The marine life around the Galapagos Islands is so unique that nearly 20% is endemic to the area, including one of our favorites, the marine iguana.

Our agency has been certified with the European 'Tour Cert' label, which ensures that all of our business is conducted in a sustainable way. This means that we have to follow guidelines when it comes to our travelers, the trips we organize, and even internally within our office. Here are some examples of the daily work we do to promote sustainable practices: when we have larger groups traveling, we provide them with re-usable water bottles to reduce the use of plastic. On the Galapagos Islands, we collaborate with a small group of fishermen on San Cristobal, rather than working with internationally-run providers. In our office, we use environmentally-friendly products such as organic soap, and we run a mandatory training session to understand and apply the recycling system in the office. See more

    The Pros :
Loved the pacing. We were busy all the time, but not exhausted. Loved the ******** and *************Hotel. We spent just the right amount of time in each place.
    The Cons:
Didn’t like the Hotel *************, and our nature guide in the Galapagos probably knew the information, but his English was terrible. We left him early on the second day because we couldn’t communicate with him.

The best housekeeping EVER! Loved the hikes, but especially the river hike. That was very different from anything we’d ever done before. We didn’t see as much wildlife as we hoped, but still loved the place. I wish we could have laid over somewhere other than Quito before heading to the Galapagos, but we relaxed, and got ready for part two of our adventure. The Galapagos were amazing! Animals everywhere! The high point was the snorkel trip to Kicker Rock. We swam with turtles, sea lions, rays, sharks and a million fish. It was phenomenal. The next day we had a land tour to see the giant tortoises, but that guide wasn’t good. He should stick to Spanish-speaking groups. Loved the country. Loved the experience. Loved the way the trip was planned.See more

    The Pros :
Everything was well organized and stress free. Accommodations were just as requested - small, local establishments. Guides were all knowledgeable, and with good English. Sofia's planning, from our NYEve arrival in Peru to my departure, was first class. Thank you.
    The Cons:
The long, overnight bus ride, which was actually 2 separate buses, with long wait in between transfers. I was dreading the return trip, but it went much faster, on better buses, with hardly any waiting around during transfers. Not being able to get any of the ATM machines in Galápagos or Quito to give us cash. Got sols from machine in Cusco, which we spent while in Peru. We landed in Galápagos with $300 cash, assuming we could pay their entry costs using Visa. Instead had to use $280 cash. Even though guides in Galápagos and Quito took us to many machines we were unable to get more cash.

Same for Quito, especially Cuba Guest House and guide, Freddy. Apart from the overnight bus ride, my venture into the Amazon was enjoyable and educational, in small group of 8, with Ebi, the most experienced guide there.See more
