Using downtown Reykjavik as my base, I took several tours, which were amazing. The 'gourmand walking tour' was excellent; make sure you are really hungry! A morning spent at Perlan was awesome, and great value - though I did not see the Northern Lights 'in the wild' the planetarium show made up for it; the ice cave was brilliant. And - adored the Blue Lagoon.
The best parts:
This was my first visit to Iceland, and I will be back. In terms of day to day logistics, it was very easy to get to pickup stops; my hotel was centrally located with an abundance of restaurants and bars mere paces away. It is easy to run out of superlatives.
The worst parts:
I was expecting high prices, and planned for it - so was not surprised at the cost of a beer, say, or a restaurant meal. This does not mean I liked it! but - having the expectation and planning ahead helped mitigate the shock.

We loved Iceland, despite the sometimes bad weather. The waterfalls were great but the highlights were the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. The Geyser area was just OK. The greenhouses were very interesting.
The best parts:
Everything went as planned and the areas we visited were overall very good. Our guide was excellent. Food was always good.
The worst parts:
We should have been told about the bus transfer getting to our hotel. Not a big deal, but we should have been informed. We were expecting to pick from dinner menus at the hotels and not have choices already made. We had to alter a few of them. We had a street side room for one night at the Marina. It was very noisy.

The snowy Iceland Tourane was gorgeous with the frozen waterfalls just beautiful. The people of Iceland were very friendly while most of the accommodations were comfortable. Patrizia with Evaneos was the best travel agent to have. She was thorough and very caring, she even answered questions while we were on tour! Thank you so much for making our adventure in Iceland wonderful from beginning to end.
The best parts:
We had constant support and contact with Patrizia. She's wonderful. We even got to meet her face to face. The tours with Arctic Adventures were good and we saw a lot of the Island. We loved all the snow and awesome waterfalls. The Ice cave tour and Glacier walk along with capturing the Northern Lights were a highlight for sure. The food was tasty and The Skuggi Hotel was a great location and pleasant stay. The people of Iceland were extremely friendly and happy people.
The worst parts:
If there was a worst it would have to be the knowledge of the Arctic Adventures tour guides for complete details of our planned daily schedule. On our 5 day tour the guide was not very elaborate on giving us information about where we were, advising how to dress in regards to our daily adventures (sometimes the schedule changed day to day for whatever reason and was not correct from our written Itinerary) We understood that but there was lack of communication. He also stated we did not have a cave tour! That was upsetting. Thank goodness we did go on a cave tour because that was extremely important. Patrizia again was there for us and she assured me we were all set. The expense of eating was probably the worst aspect but we expected that.

iceland is a nice destination.... for older people For me, doesn't worth the money spent My local agent Patricia, was great, Very accommodating, worked 24/7, (american style )went out of her way to make arrangements and changes caused by the weather conditions
The best parts:
Blue lagoon was very special so was the dog sledding, the Glacier hike and local geothermal pool
The worst parts:
Northern Lights seem to be a myth the Global warming is slowly turning Icebergs into tiny pieces of ice ( we have bigger icebergs in Hudson river) it was very disappointing to see the tiny ' Icebergs' and the waterfalls I should have probably chosen more extreme activities in order to have more memorable trip.

We landed and immediately hit the***************. While I had suits packed separately, I didn't pack shoes and since we were a bit jet lagged and delayed because of the car service mix-up, we didn't enjoy it as much as we could have. The massage was great as an add-on to the experience. ************* Hotel was awesome, so accommodating, clean, and welcoming. Our 2 tours, The ************* and ***************t were fantastic. LOVED our glacier hike and every spot we hit. The tour guides were amazing, knowledgeable and very patient. We were traveling with an 81 year old and a 10 year old and both end of the spectrums were covered. Also very much enjoyed lunch at the greenhouse. We strolled around the City and had a great time just absorbing all the City had to offer. I have been recommending this trip and Evaneos to my friends and family!
The best parts:
Our Agent, Gunnar, did an amazing job of personalizing our travel for us. It was the perfect complement to our interests and Iceland wish list. Our hotel was fantastic, the service was impressive and both tours we took were the right amount of time and activity. It far exceeded our expectations!
The worst parts:
Our trip started off a bit rocky with our car service forgetting to pick us up from the airport. That made me a bit nervous about the rest of the itinerary. We did the ************* yacht experience on NYE and I was disappointed in the price for what we received. I had to sort out how to get there and back on a busy night like NYE (sorted out quickly though when I called *******yachts for assistance). While the fireworks from the bay were beyond amazing, on board was lack lustre with no snacks and everything from the bar - including water - was a fee. Didn't feel like it was worth the price point. Also, the northern lights tour never happened - cancelled 2 nights in a row. Because we were there around the holiday, many stores were closed so we did not get to experience everything we wanted from the local fare. We did get to see the lights on our own with a bit of patience and a northern lights phone app!

Although we made a mistake on the arriving time, we were picked up so on time while arriving in the airport. I must rate the pickup service five stars. The Northern light tour was cancelled due to the terrible weather, but the agency responded so quickly and rebooked one for us. Luckily, we saw it on the night just before departure! We have a three days tour with two companies, both of which are good. I really enjoy the overnight tour with HiddenIceland. The guide could adjust our schedule flexibly due to the unpredictable weather. Thanks to him, we had a wonderful view of sunset on the first day. That's my personal favorite part of this journey. The guides from these two companies both have a sense of humor and told us a lot about Iceland, which let me know more about Iceland. I have to say it's a wonderful journey which is far more interesting than I expected. Really thanks a lot to Gunnar and Patrizia!
The best parts:
Wonderful trip design(esp. with Hidden Iceland company), nice hotel and instant help.
The worst parts:
To be honest, no.

The destinations were great. We did the Golden Circle, Northern Lights, Blue Lagoon, snowmobiling, ice climbing and ice caves. Everything was spectacular and amazing. The accommodations were also great. We had issues with our flight to Iceland that was not due to Evaneos and our travel rep, Patrizia and Sara, was able to reschedule what we missed the first day to later in the week. We appreciate everything the team did to make our trip memorable.
The best parts:
The trip was planned very well where we could get to our activities on time. On all our planned activities the group was very small and we had personal attention. The guides on each activity were great and very helpful. The trip could not have been planned any better.
The worst parts:
There was not any bad parts of the trip.

We really enjoyed the Ice Cave tour on the southern coast. It was a sunny day and you could see for miles from the top. Our guide Kiddee was part mountain goat and had us climbing all over.
The best parts:
Everything went flawlessly. No issues, no drama, just fun. Every tour was better than expected. We saw Northern Lights three times!
The worst parts:
The flight!

A group of 10 went with me to Iceland to celebrate my birthday. I wanted a local agent since I didn't know much about Iceland, and wanted someone that could give me honest opinions with first hand knowledge. I was very happy with the service I received from both Nika and Gunnar (with the exception of the Whale watching). The places they recommended were great, and they were very responsive. I loved the incredible natural beauty - although I could have done without the extreme wind we encountered for a few days.
The best parts:
The natural beauty - especially the Aurora! With few exceptions, the people we interacted with were great.
The worst parts:
The whale watching. If we had been told ahead of time that this wasn't a very good time (most whales have left the area according to the crew) we wouldn't have spent that money. Also, the weather that day was very rough. More than 1/2 the people spent the time vomiting, it was not pleasant for the rest of us. The excursion shouldn't have left the harbor. We felt that it was a case of money over experience. Perhaps the local agents could do a better job setting realistic expectations for activities.

The country was stunning, and we saw northern lights, so we were still happy to go. But there are too many tourists now, even in October, and the parkings are too small to welcome them. I wouldn't recommend the destination unless the person would really want to see the landscapes.
The best parts:
The Icelandair hotels were all great, it was relaxing to have the nights and breakfasts booked in advance.
The worst parts:
The Fosshotel in Nupar had a bug on our mattress so we got a better room, but my parents' one wasn't up to the comfort standard requested. I emailed our agent for an upgrade at the Fosshotel in Reykjavik as my parents had a first night in a dirty room with plastic bathroom. He said he wrote to them but they never received his email, and we had to paid extra to have correct rooms. The agent never told us the tunnel in Akureyri and the parkings at the national parks weren't free, so we got a fine. The upgrade Budget gave us for the car wasn't free either, they never told my parents and tricked us to spend more. It couldn't even hold 4 suitcases so we weren't comfortable on the road. The food was way too expensive and not good. The agent copy-pasted an itinerary we could have done ourselves just following the road, and your agency got a lot of money for little investment. We won't take Evaneos again, and won't recommend either, booking.com and maps are enough.

Selected Iceland because we wanted to experience something totally different. We found it! It was a privilege to explore and take in the beauty of the country. Our time was spent in the west and south. We will return to do the rest in the next few years.
The best parts:
Seeing the countryside. The Lava Museum was a fantastic experience.
The worst parts:
Dimness of the lighting in the rooms of the *** Hotel - the room lighting was non-existent. Other than that the hotel was nice and it's location great.

My daughter and I shared a strong desire to see the Northern Lights (which we were able too), and to be up close with glaciers and waterfalls. We are both science geeks, and the geography of Iceland is so diverse and so fascinating.
The best parts:
The natural beauty of the country was breathtaking. We had an outstanding trip, very well planned (thanks to Gunnar) and enjoyed every single thing we did. Our favorite activity was the zodiac boat ride on the lagoon seeing Iceland's largest glacier. The hike on a glacier was also really cool, and our guide, Magnus, was a fun, very upbeat young man. Our favorite guesthouse was Glacier View with Hotel Laekur a very close second. The food at both guesthouses was outstanding, as well as the hospitality. Driving Iceland was quite easy too.
The worst parts:
We needed longer days to see and do everything we wanted to do! There truly wasn't a 'worst part'.

We had great time! Lucky to see the northern lights twice in a row! Our best tour was definitely the glacier hike! It went beyond my expectations.
The best parts:
Great planning although too many activities in such little Time! Would hace loved an hourly schedule with approximate timing pero activity: example: Wuw did not know that the snowmobile Tour would take almos 5 hours if our day
The worst parts:
Snowmobile over rated I guess 5 houra was too much we where exhausted! Liked the tour vut wouldve appreicated a heads up for time... also out tour for the zodiak was not private (thought it would) but also we had TERRIBLE weather and did not help! Probable shoulde canceled the tour

with the suggested route from the agent, i basically follow each days google maps provided by her to finish the trip (+/- view points) iceland is really a special place, you don't see much of the view that you see in front of you during the whole trip outside of the capital that you may find similar from my previous travel experience.
The best parts:
inside the volcano, glacier cave and the ice cave are one of those once in a lifetime experience
The worst parts:
very windy and heavy rain
