I was born in the Netherlands and in 2000 we moved to Norway to experience the amazing unspoiled nature and fresh air. We bought a little sheep farm in Nordfjord where we can enjoy this every day. I love hiking in the mountains with my family and our Norwegian Elkhound, kayaking, and skiing in winter time. Or just sitting on the terrace and overlooking the fjord. I would love to share my passion and knowledge of Norway with you, to make your dream trip to Norway come true.

    The Pros :
The hikes advised by our travel agent. The accommodations, especially at Sande Camping near Loen.
    The Cons:
The stay at Stalheim Hotel was too long. There were not enough interesting activities in this area to spend 3 days here. The time would have been much better spent in the Loen area, which we loved.
    Comment :

We loved that our trip included many different areas in the country but was mostly focused on the natural beauty of the country. Our favorite area was Loen, where the mountains were fantastic due to the glaciers and dramatic waterfalls. We also enjoyed the coast and hiking up a mountain overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It was unlike any other hike we've ever done. Finally, we greatly enjoyed kayaking around the coastal island where we stayed.See more

We are of course happy that you liked Loen, Nordfjord, our home area best :-) Still quite off the beaten track, we like that too. It was so much fun welcoming you at our farm and getting to know your family a little better. We are also grateful that you liked the guided kayak trip at the Coast, it is very special indeed with all the small islands. Bekey sends her regards to you. Your comment about Stalheim, in the Nærøyfjord area, is very interesting, it only shows how different tastes people have, because other guests are really fan of that hotel/area. The Nærøyfjord area is also known for good hiking, and there are several bigger attractions there, but yes more crowded. Thank you again for your time, and maybe we will meet again. Velkommen tilbake! AnneSee more

    The Pros :
Hotel selection was very good, we really enjoyed them. Interesting, and beautiful route to drive (about the right distance each day), and good tips for things to look at
    The Cons:
The only thing we would probably have done differently with the benefit of hindsight is the Hurtigruten ... we realised even just in the 2 nights on the ship that we are very much not 'cruise ship people' ... and we were about 30+ yrs younger than everyone else...better we learnt this way than on a two week cruise! ;-) Also, in terms of 'seeing the fjords from the water', the ferry to Gudvangen through the Nauroyfjord was stunning, which meant the Hurtigruten in the Geirangerfjord wasn't 'special' in comparison
    Comment :
See above - all of it! (with the partial exception of Hurtigruten)

I am aware of the age profile of many of the travellers on the ship. In your case though, since you wanted to see Trondheim, this was the best option, also to show you the Coastal landscape, and the Geiranger Fjord (interesting feedback about the comparison between Nærøy- and Geirangerfjord!). When you are up for a new adventure in Norway, you know where to find us. Kind regards, AnneSee more
