Canopy Walkway is now’s your chance to relive your Indiana Jones fantasies. The construction of a 160m-long and at times 70m-high canopy walkway is a big draw for visitors after something unusual. You won’t encounter much wildlife while on the metallic suspension bridge, but you’ll certainly appreciate the jungle anew from this unique monkey’s-eye perspective. Access to the canopy walkway, which is on the Igishigishigi Trail, involves a preliminary 20- to 30-minute hike from Uwinka. Canopy tours begin at set times (8am, 10am, 1pm and 3pm), last about two hours and are guided (per person US$60).
Colobus Monkey tracking is a subspecies of the widespread black-and-white colobus, the Angolan colobus is an arboreal Old World monkey that is distinguished by its black fur and long, silky white locks of hair. Weighing 10kg to 20kg, and possessing a dexterous tail that can reach lengths of 75cm, Angolan colobus are perfectly suited to a life up in the canopy. to search for colobus monkeys, a large group of which can often be seen feeding on wild figs and jumping from branch to branch.

the Congo-Nile Trail is actually a tangled network of trails and roads that run from Gisenyi at the north end of Lake Kivu 227 kilometers south to the town of Cyangugu at the southern end of the lake. The landscape between these two familiar points is made up of unending rolling hills and innumerable towns and villages, offering cyclists and trekkers a glimpse of Rwandan rural life rarely experienced by the city dwellers that make up most of Rwanda’s expat community. Bird lovers will also enjoy a wonderful diversity of fowl found along the way, including white tailed blue flycatchers, black headed herons and White-breasted cormorants.
The Congo Nile Trail, located entirely on the coast of Lake Kivu, extends all the way from the northern Rubavu district down to the southern Rusizi district, passing through Rutsiro, Karongi, and Nyamasheke. Gisenyi, the capital of the Rubavu District, is generally the starting point for the Congo Nile Trail, though trekkers can begin at any point.

Options available include A gorilla tracking or a trek to a habituated group of Golden Monkeys (cercopithecus mitis kandti) which are endemic to the Virungas, or the visit of Karisoke Research Centre built by Dian Fossey being also the site of her grave, located in the park between the Karisimbi and Bisoke Volcanoes, or the climb of Bisoke volcano with its superb crater lake. Alternatively tour the shores of the small Ruhondo and Bulera lakes.
