This program will introduce you to Uganda in its complexity; the wild and unvisited Kidepo wildlife park on the southern Sudanese border; the Murchison Park, through which runs the Nile, the largest African river which, from rapids to falls, spreads its immutable course in the low plains of Lake Albert; the variety of its fauna is exceptional; the Queen Elisabeth reserve located in the Albert graben dominated by the imposing Ruwenzori, the famous, "Mountains of the Moon". It is full of many mammals and birds; the small park of Lake Mburo with wooded hills, plains with acacia, papyrus swamp. 


The Kibale Forest will offer you its chimpanzees; Bwindi will be the apotheosis of the trip: the meeting with the last mountain gorillas, a unique moment.


The beautiful scenery of the Great Lakes, volcanoes and mountains, dry plains and arid plains, will excite you.


Meetings with the proud Karamajong nomads, the rough Acholi peasants, the great Alurs pastors, the village populations are unforgettable.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Arrival at Entebbe airport and meeting with your French-speaking driver/guide.

Day 2: Entebbe - Nile Source - Mount Elgon

Route via Kampala to Jinja. Discovery of the rapids down stream from Bujagali and then, by boat, of the source of the Nile. Further East, the road leads to the Kenyan border and Mount Elgon. Arrival in Mbale.

Day 3: Pian-Upe Reserve - Karamajong Country - Moroto Volcano

The winding trail runs through a verdant agricultural area with numerous plush villages. Gradually, banana fields and rice fields give way to grassy expanses stretching to infinity.

Stop in the Pian-Upe Reserve. These boundless spaces are crossed by the proud Karamojong pastors, eager for contact with strangers who for a long time did not venture into eastern Uganda. Arrival in Moroto, a small town built on the foot of the volcano.

Day 4: In the heart of Karamajong country between Moroto and Kotido

The entire area north of the Bokora Reserve is semi-arid. Acacia forests, groves of euphorbia and sisal cling to the slopes of extinct volcanoes that dot the vast plains with many species of birds: caloas, touracos, bustards, martins hunters. Visit Karamojong kraals. Arrival in the small town of Kotido.

Day 5: Kotido - To Kidepo National Park - Diving in Karamajong Country

Last refueling in Kaabong, small town nestled at the foot of an impressive cluster of rounded rocks. By a small road reach the Kidepo National Park.

Days 6 to 7: Kidepo National Park

2 days of animal discovery in vehicle and on foot accompanied by a professional guide, happy to share his knowledge of nature and his love for these virgin spaces.


Kidepo National Park, 800 km north of Kampala on the border with Kenya and Sudan, is totally different from other parks in Uganda.


In this beautiful mountainous region where plains with tall grass and gallery forests alternate, live large herds of buffaloes, elephants, zebras, giraffes and elands as well as lions and leopards. East of the Kidepo River, which runs through a magnificent forest of borassus palms, a more arid region is traversed by ostriches, Kori bustards, great terrestrial hornbills.


In this park which opens slowly to tourism, you will feel the soul of a pioneer.

Day 8: Kidepo National Park - Murchison Park

We drive due west and cross the Nangeya Mountains to enter the Acholi country, a rural population that migrated more than 2 centuries ago from Bahr el Ghazal in Sudan. Their villages are of circular huts with pointed roofs and ocher walls decorated with geometric motifs. Lunch in Gulu. Road to Murchison Park.

Day 9: Murchison National Park

The Nile winds its way through a narrow gorge to form impressive falls. Boat ride to get close to the falls, unique opportunity to observe thousands of colorful birds, herds of buffaloes and dozens of crocodiles. Safari in the park on the morning, in the afternoon boat on the Nile to the bottom of the falls.

Day 10: Murchison National Park - Butiaba - Hoïma - Kabwoya Reserve

Discovery on foot of the impressive Nile Falls, then take the road to Lake Albert. The lake fringe is crossed by the large flocks of the proud Alurs shepherds. Stop in Butiaba, a big fishing village. Road to Hoïma and Kabwoya Reserve.

Day 11: Kabwoya - Kibale National Park

The Kabwoya Reserve, the home of buffaloes, hippopotamuses, Uganda cobs and warthogs, as well as monkeys. Bird lovers will not be disappointed even if we must admit that we come even more for landscapes than for animals. The reserve is a welcome detour for people visiting Kibale from Murchinson Falls Park. Crossing western Uganda on a laterite track passing through many villages. Arrival at Kibale National Park. Night in a camp at the edge of the park.

Day 12: Kibale National Park and Bigodi Swamp

Kibale Forest holds one of the world's largest primate populations including chimpanzees, red colobus and blue monkeys. Walk in the forest in search of chimpanzees and other primates.

Days 13 to 14: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Departure to Queen Elizabeth National Park, consisting of extinct volcanoes, crater lakes, marshes and grassy plains. Boat trip to meet the birds on the Kazinga Channel, a moment you are not ready to forget. Safari in vehicle. Uganda cobs, lions, elephants, buffalo and hippopotamuses are the most common animals, and there are more than 500 bird species.

Day 15: Queen Elizabeth National Park - Bwindi National Park

Morning in the park, exploring the banks of the Ishasha River with chances to see lions in the trees and then drive to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Day 16: Mountain gorillas

Accompanied by a guide and trackers, we go in search of mountain gorillas. The time of an encounter with these mountain gorillas, we attend one of the most incredible and moving shows of nature.

Day 17: Bwindi National Park - Lake Mburo National Park

Departure towards Lake Bunyoni. After a few hours on the lake shore, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, bordered with papyrus marshes and known for its ornithological wealth. Night safari.

Day 18: Lake Mburo National Park - Lake Victoria - Bugala Island - Brovad Sands

A modern ferry connects three times a day the port of Bukakata to the island of Bugala. Crossing about 40 minutes and landing on the island north-west of Lake Victoria and part of the Ssese Islands. In the company of your driver you can explore the island and its many hamlets. Bucolic landscapes. Arrival in Kalangala and check in at a very good lakeside hotel. Travel time: 2 to 3 hours, 80 km.
