Standing over 6,000 metres above sea level, the Cordillera Real is known for its breathtaking scenery. With its snow-capped volcanoes and windswept steppes, the Cordillera Real has hiking trails that must not be missed by enthusiasts of mountaineering and enthusiasts of... challenges!
Because this hike which is one of the most impressive in Bolivia is not an easy one! Apart from the freezing temperatures, the steep climbs and the physical effort demanded of you, this famous trek is renowned for its extreme altitude (it's nearly 5,000 metres high)! So it goes without saying that you'll need excellent health and lots of fitness training before embarking on a trek across the Cordillera Real.
While trekking in Bolivia, we stopped at Campo Venado and made the most of our day off. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and mischievous llamas, this place really is a haven of peace and is ideal for relaxing after long days spent walking.
