Senekele Sanctuary is really tiny, and it was only created to protect a species of antelope native to the region, which is threatened with extinction: Swayne's hartebeest. Of the 3,000 beasts which lived in the region, only 250 remain... A true carnage.
The advantage of this reserve is that you have an almost 100% chance of seeing these animals. There are also lots of birds there for those who love birdwatching and some warthogs... With a dry savannah vegetation, consisting mainly of African acacias.
I didn't think the trip was really worth the detour. There are more interesting places in the surrounding area, such as Yabelo Sanctuary, Nechisar National Park around Lakes Abaya and Chamo, or the Stephanie fauna reserve around Lake Chew Bahir.
