A small village by lake Sevan, in the foothills of the Gegham mountains, Tsaghakashen is the highest village and offers access to lake Akna and to the Eastern face of the Ajdahak mountain. Stop and visit the pretty little church of Sourp Hovhannes.

My suggestion
In the right season, there's a great hiking trail, which leaves from Tsaghkashen and climbs up to lake Akna (4-5 hours, 12 km). Bivouac near the lake and drink in its serene atmosphere. Then strike camp at dawn and watch the sun rise from Ajdahak.
