Trekking in the Cordillera Real is every hiker's dream! Yet crossing this mountain range requires serious physical preparation. It's also unthinkable to make the journey without a guide or the proper equipment. Everything begins on the banks of Lake Titicaca. Let me tell you about it...
Having reached Copacabana from La Paz, it was then 2 days of walking in northern Isla Des Sol, for acclimatisation purposes. We explored the 3 small villages on the island: Yumani, Challa and Challapampa, as well as the ruins of Chincana. The following day, we headed to Isla de la Luna, where we discovered pre-Colombian remains. Then it was time to cross the lake towards Kalaki. From this village, we went to Sorata in an all-terrain vehicle; this was our departure point for the Cordillera Real trek. Let the adventure begin!
