As I had hired one in the village of <a href="/chile/"> San Pedro de Atacama </a>, I went to Aldea de Tudor by car. No need to panic, if you do not have a car. It is easy to access the site by bicycle! Otherwise, you can go there by taxi. A few miles from Moon Valley, the Aldea de Tulor archeological site is a pre-Colombian village built in 380 BC. Thanks to the layers of sand that have accumulated over the centuries, the site has been preciously preserved. Considered an architectural masterpiece, the small village houses are circular. The main material used to built them is mud. This is where the most ancient people of the Atacama valley started to settle and make a living from agriculture, livestock and handicrafts. To visit the site you will have to pay about 5 000 Chilean pesos. Admittedly, the price is a bit steep but the money serves a good cause: the archeological excavation of the site. I nonetheless regret the lack of historical information present. They can do better!
