If you are a trekking enthusiast, you will certainly find your heart’s delight in Bolivia. An hour’s drive from La Paz, the Cordillera Real is a majestic mountain range that peaks between 4000 and 6000 m of altitude. It is no coincidence that it has been given the nickname of the “Himalayas of the New World”! 
But beware, most of the treks in the Cordillera Real are not for “Sunday hikers” due to the extremely high altitudes involved. It is therefore essential to be in excellent health and to have the right equipment before setting out to climb its mountain passes and peaks. Don’t go alone either, but call on the services of a serious high mountain guide. 
Not far from <a href="/bolivia/">Laguna Chiar Khota</a>, the Pequeño Alpamayo is a mountain of over 5400 m of altitude located within Condoriri National Park. Its summit is considered as being rather easy to climb. Attention, before climbing, you will first need to go down a rocky slope. It is also recommended to attempt an ascent of the Pequeño Alpamayo as an acclimatisation hike before taking on the famous Huayna Potosi.
