Located between the Laguna Glaciar and the village of Sorata, Laguna Chilata is a glacial lagoon which sits 5,030 metres above sea level. Surrounded by the snow capped mountains of the Cordillera Real, this peaceful lagoon is a watering place for the region's wildlife. 
If you're not particularly sporty or you simply don't have enough time to set off on a two-week trek, remember you can still discover this beautiful lagoon by going on a mini 3-day trek from Sorata to the Laguna Glaciar. You'll spend the night in a tent at a small campsite. Given the short duration of the hike, you'll have to carry your own luggage. But don't worry, the paths are well used and much improved, and the inclines and drops aren't as steep as on other trails.
But be careful - it would be unwise to set off on an adventure without a guide, excellent physical condition and proper equipment. Have a good trip!
