This pearl on the lower Saint Lawrence River is characterised by its colourful villages which appear one after the other along your route and are an absolute delight for visitors.

My suggestion:
Visiting the region by car or by bike is the best way to explore it. That way you can stop wherever your fancy takes you. I really enjoyed cycling around the area on a lovely summer's day.

Whether it's for its sensational scenery, its rich heritage or for any kind of tourism-related activity Kamouraska has something for everyone. The tourism development managers have designed several themed round-trips and routes to suit every preference. There's the explorers' route, the lighthouses' route, cycling round-trips, the scenic round-trip and the heritage round-trip. All you have to do is choose the one that takes your fancy!

Kamouraska is the region next to the village where I was born, so I've been there several times. However, it doesn't matter how many times I go there, I'm always blown away by this closely-guarded French Canadian secret. You are guaranteed to be charmed by its landscapes.
