Situated on the western flank of Mount Gonggar, it stretches across 31km², making it China's largest glacier.

My review

A fare paying cable car will take you to the point where you can admire the view across the Hailuogou Glacier, whilst a path will lead you back down to its base.

This park is a hiker's paradise, with views across ancient glaciers, lakes, frozen waterfalls and virgin forests. The wildlife is amazing - be prepared to spot macaque monkeys, hummingbirds and, if you're lucky, pandas!

The Mingyong Glacier sits at a surprisingly low altitude for the region, being at only 2,600m at its base. As a result it's particularly affected by global warming. See it before it completely disappears!
