Ilulissat is situated alongside an icefjord, which continually churns out icebergs. Explore the magnificent natural environment and lose yourself in the peace and quiet of your surroundings.

My suggestion:
Go hiking fromIlulissat under the midnight sun during the summer, or watch the northern lights from a sleigh in the winter.
My review

During my trip to Greenland, I spent several days in Ilulissat, a really lovely colourful little town on the west coast of Greenland. Don't go for the nightlife (after 9pm you won't find much going on) but go for the magnificent natural surroundings. Outside the town, three clearly marked trails, which are quite accessible, will allow you to explore the coast and the icefjord , which continually churns out icebergs. In the summer, sit on a rock facing west and enjoy the sunshine.

I suggest you try a Greenlandic buffet dinner in one of the few restaurants in Ilulissat, and don't leave until you have tasted seal, whale or musk ox. You must try mattaq, whale skin and blubber, a delicacy.

Ilulissat is surrounded by icebergs.
