Khajuraho Group of Monuments (India)

When traveling in India, most tourists plan to see the Taj Mahal and the erotic sculptures, which depict the Kama Sutra, at Khajuraho. Every day, thousands of tourist laden coaches arrive at this little village, nestled in the Indian countryside, packed with visitors who want to see the temples, the oldest of which dates back to the 9th Century. 

Groups crowd around the erotic sculptures, but these carvings only represent 5% of the incredible works found on the facades of the numerous temples.

I was fascinated by these delicate scenes, all chiseled in marble. I suggest you stay over at Khajuraho, so you can take the time to fully appreciate the site, once the tourist coaches have left.
