At the centre of Arunachal Pradesh, in the tribal States of the North-East, Daporijo, although often described as a dirty, uninteresting small town, is still worth a visit during yourtrip to India.

My suggestion:
Rather than sleeping in Daporijo itself, choose accommodation with an inhabitant of a surrounding village, such as Ligu, typically. You will definitely be invited by a neighbour for a cup of tea.
My review

Equidistant between Along and Ziro, two unmissable destinations of Arunachal Pradesh, Daporijo is an ideal stop off pointto spend the night. To travel around the entire State, a jeep is a better option than public transport.

The tribes who live in the region worship the moon and the sun, as you can see on the flags between the entrance of houses. Like me, you will definitely be surprised to see the girls smoke cigarettes and wear short skirts. It feels like you are not really in India!

In Daporijo, as in the rest of Arunachal, you will be impressed by the robust houses on stilts. The inhabitants are very welcoming and they will be proud to explain their beliefs to you.
