A nature reserve in South India between Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

My suggestion:
Visit the tea and spice plantations in the areas surrounding Periyar.
My review

In Periyar, the main attraction is the animal reserve, which is more than 700 km2 big. I went there one day when I lived in India, because after all, it's one of the largest in the country, and I was promised tigers and elephants.

As for that promise, I only saw a few birds, but I enjoyed the boat that crossed the lake in the middle of the forest and was bitten by dozens of leeches!

However, the areas all around the park are untamed and absolutely gorgeous, and so are the tea and spice plantations that you can visit in the mountains. A nice stop during a stay in India.
