Located east of Manali, the beautiful Lake Chandra Tal is a good trek arrival or departure point.

My suggestion:
Spend a night in a tent at the edge of the lake. Unforgettable.
My review

This legendary lake at 4200 meters above sea level is surrounded by several small Buddhist temples, where monks sometimes stay in the summer. It's also called "Lake of the Moon," because its translucent, turquoise waters form a crescent that reflects the Himalayan Mountains.

When arriving at Lake Chandra Tal, often after several days of walking, one can't help but fall under the spell of this magical landscape. Multicolored mountains all around and prayer flags flying in the wind make it a unique place.

When on a trip to northern India, the lake is an essential stop for many treks in the area.
