In the local dialect, "Apani Dhani" means "Our Hamlet", an affectionate name given to the place by Ramesh C. Jangid, founder of the ecolodge and a pioneer of a form of militant tourism in India, especially in Rajasthan and his own native region of Nawalgarh.

Hunder is one of the world's unmissable and unique landscapes. After Diskit, the golden sand is more dense at the bottom of the valley. You could almost think you are in the Sahara, even if there weren't any high snow mountains in the background.
The highlight of the show? Camels! No, it's not a joke. Of course, they are more polite than their Moroccan cousins and their water reserves are apathetic, but that makes them even more cute. However, my fellow traveller informed me that their breathing was something to be desired. I was very fortunate to see babies. Like they lose their hairs in the summer, you could call them ostriches.
To think I saw, during my<a href="/india/">trip to India</a>, a cold desert with dense camels snorting in the middle of snowy mountains... Ideal, right?
