Raghurajpur is a small village in the state of Odisha famous for the quality of the work produced by its local artists, who specialize in creating Pattachitra scroll paintings and Gotipua and Odissi dances.

My suggestion:
If you want to purchase a piece, this is the ideal place to do it. Raghurajpur's artists are considered the best in India, and by purchasing their work you will be helping to maintain the village's traditions.
My review

Raghurajpur is an amazing little village made up of two streets along which stand the artists' houses, with the whole surrounded by lush vegetation in the form of palm trees, coconut palms and fruit trees. Everyone who lives in the village is either an artist or an artist in the making, and as you walk around Raghurajpur, you will see somebody creating a piece of art in front of every house. Here, art is a family enterprise. Once the parents have traced the outline of the design, their older children then color in the canvas. The younger ones, meanwhile, practice on paper or slate.

While the family is expressing its talent for Pattachitra painting, the youngest child is likely to be learning and practicing the traditional dances of Odisha, which depict scenes from Hindu mythology. You can pay also visit the local school, where the children will be delighted to demonstrate their talent to you! Raghurajpur is recommended for those who love to enjoy new experiences on their travels. Personally, i adored it there.
