Ambatoloaka is an old fishing village on the island of Nosy Be, which has been transformed into a seaside resort today.

My review

Hotels, bars and restaurants have gradually emerged along the beautiful beach that runs along the village, and they make Ambatoloaka an important island tourist centre.

Lots of activities are offered, mostly geared to the sea: from traditional swimming with a mask and snorkel to deep sea fishing and scuba diving in the beautiful waters surrounding the island, the village has plenty for watersports fans.

The village is located about 6 miles from Hell-town and 12 miles from the Nosy Be airport. To get there by taxi, expect to pay about 20,000 ariary (£4) from Hell-Ville and 40,000 ariary (£8) from the airport.
