Mananjary es la ville point de départ alternative de la visite du canal des Pangalannes. Normalement les touristes partent de Manakara (parce que c’est la ville d’arrivée du train), mais c’est conseillable partir de Mananjary, moins de touristes et plus typique. Le meilleur plan est sans doute acheter du poisson le matin au canal et le manger en barbecue à midi avec le guide !
