The town of "sleeping rocks" gets its name from the large black rocks that emerge one hundred metres from the coast. It is the nearest coastal town to the capital.

My suggestion:
If you love sports and relaxation, stay a few days to take advantage of the many activities on offer as well as the beautiful beaches!
My review

It was an important trading post during the nineteenth century, when goods were transported on foot from Antananarivo by the forest trails of the east.

Vatomandry is popular with the inhabitants of the capital because its beaches are the closest to Tana.
Between the beaches and forests, lovers of relaxation and sports alike will find their heart's content. There are many trails that can be covered on foot or by bicycle.

Water sports are also on the agenda. Vatomandry is a good surfing spot thanks to the low pressure systems of the Indian Ocean. The picnics of visitors and the comings and goings of the fishermen's pirogues give Tampolo Beach is lively atmosphere.

The town is located near the Pangalanes Canal, where you can discover the daily lives of the Betsimisaraka, "the many inseparables", and their houses on stilts with ravinala roofs.
