Heading towards Morombe, the road travels through baobab trees and rice fields. To the south, towards Toliara, the landscape is more arid, typical of the bush.
Not far from the village lies the beautiful Ampanonga forest and its majestic baobabs, Adansonia grandidieri, whose tree tops exceed all other plant species by far, forming a magnificent panorama dominated by these giants.
