Magnificent coastal village driven by its history and its inhabitants.

My suggestion:
English Bay is magnificent day and night. Don't hesitate to stay there a while or, at least, plan a 24-hour stopover in this village on the north coast of Rodrigues Island.
My review

English Bay is a village located on the north coast of Rodrigues Island, packed with history. British troops landed there at the beginning of the 19th century and, today, it's highly prized by visitors and the population for its magnificent public beach. English Bay is also the ideal place for meeting locals on Rodrigues Island, as there's a hotel, some inns, restaurants and a nightclub there. If you want to spend a rather peaceful time at English Bay, choose daytime and follow a fisherman in his daily life. It's one of the main activities of the village's inhabitants.

Finally, I witnessed a phenomenon in English Bay which is not to be missed: the low tide. During the seasons with a strong tidal coefficient, the lagoon appears completely dried up, so the beach provides a magnificent view of the sunset.
