A magnificent spot for lovers of the sea and fishing.

My suggestion:
Mahebourg is a stunning village in the south of the island of Mauritius. I recommend going there slightly unprepared, to let yourself be guided in the middle of the alleys...
My review

There are lots of things to see in Mahebourg. The seafront is not to be missed. It's a meeting place for lovers, fishermen and friends, as well as families catching up over a picnic or just there to take in the air.

This southern village is ideal if you have planned to discover the island of Mauritius on foot. Mahebourg is rich in history, since it's in the Old Grand Port region where the first settlers arrived in the country. I discovered all this by strolling through the alleys, especially as the locals, always smiling, were numerous in inviting me to join them at the side of the road, if only for five minutes, just to listen to them tell me about their life, their village, their country! A magical moment to experience during your stay in Mauritius.
