I enjoyed Tamegroute's labyrinth of kasbahs. They are connected by rather dark covered passageways. Be careful you don't get lost: consider spreading some pebbles, like Tom Thumb. There's a collective pottery workshop near the kasbahs which I recommend visiting while on holiday in Morocco. There you can admire some of the green pottery which is typical of Tamegroute.
The Nassiriya zaouia (religious school) is another of Tamegroute's curiosities. Villagers across the Draa Valley go there frequently because it is believed to cure hypertension and anxiety. Its fame extends all the way to the Dades Valley further north, and to the Anti-Atlas mountain range in the west.
While the zaouia is forbidden to non-Muslims, the madrasa is open to all. I loved visiting the library in Nassiriya's madrasa. There you can admire the illuminated Qurans, the oldest one dating back to the eleventh century.
