You can head to Namibia at pretty much any time of year. The best seasons are Spring, Summer and Autumn, though, during which the long dry season runs. Temperatures are at their best then, and there's the least amount of rain. During these seasons, you can do absolutely everything in Namibia, from safaris to hiking.

Winter in Namibia constitutes the rainy season, ruling out pretty much any activity. So take care to avoid this season.
When to go on safari in Namibia
From April to November.
One must during your trip to Namibia is of course going on a safari. You can choose to do so by car, but equally on foot or on horseback. Head to Etosha National Park, one of the most beautiful in the world. You'll be able to explore Khaudum National Park, also brilliant, or alternatively, the Skeleton Coast Wilderness Area. Visit during the dry season to watch the animals hurrying to gather around the watering holes.
When to take a sports trip to Namibia
From April to November.
If you're a bit of an adrenaline junkie, Namibia is the place for you! You'll be able to go sand-boarding, surfing and even parachuting. Swakopmund is one particular region in which you'll be able to try out these different adventure sports. Go on a quad-biking tour or fly over the coastline by helicopter: whatever you choose, you'll be sure to love it! Choose the period from April to November.
When to visit Namibia's national parks
From April to November.
The Namibian parks are luscious landscapes home to wild species: you won't be able to help exploring at least one. It's worth opting for Etosha or Khaudum National Park, less well-known but which all the same are worth the detour. Set off in quest of discovering wild animals and various different species of bird. Choose to plan your trip between April and November.
When to go hiking in Namibia
From April to November.
Namibia is full of magnificent landscapes, a perfect country in which to go hiking. You could spend a couple of days on a walking tour to Waterberg Plateau Park or to Fish River Canyon in order to discover Namibia's beautiful scenery. You could also trek into the Naukluft mountains and discover the incredible range of wildlife. For the best experience, travel between April and November.
When to see Namibia's flora and fauna
From April to November.
The flora of Namibia is typical of very dry African regions: it's mostly cactus and brush. During the rainy season, you'll be able to see nature there at its most colourful: if you're able to cope with the rain, you could head there at any time of year. There, you'll see some of the most beautiful scenery Africa has to offer, and some of the largest and prettiest reserves in the continent. You'll see antelopes, carnivores, crocodiles, spitting cobras, spiders and hornets...
