We came fromChisapani at the end of a long and difficult climb up to Kutumsang, a particularly pleasant part of our trek. The long but small mountain village has a peaceful atmosphere, and a gentle climate and we felt we had a genuine, if mute, contact with the locals - the Nepalese don't speak English very well and here they generally only know the essential vocabulary for their guesthouses. A game of football shared with the children, or smiles shared with the women - sometimes you don't need words.
Kutumsang is slowly getting back to normal after the earthquake. It will take time before the village is able to welcome visitors again but once the time arrives it will be great!
