A mountain range located in Peru's Ancash region and site of what is undoubtedly one of the world's most beautiful treks.

My suggestion:
Note to mountaineering enthusiasts: it's possible to climb to the tops of several mountains over the course of the hike, but make sure you organise it all well before setting off!

I'm simply lost for words. What else can I say other than that the Cordillera Huayhuash mountain range is mega beautiful … giga beautiful even? I have to admit that I was really lucky with the weather when I did this hike. This meant the colours of the landscapes all around me as I did the walk seemed almost unreal. In fact there was hardly ever even a single cloud to spoil the view; and though the nights were cold, they were not unbearable. I would think that even those who've walked in these mountains when the weather has not been so clement would agree that they are simply spectacular. It would definitely be quite possible to spend a whole trip to Peru just visiting the Cordillera Huayhuash.

To give you a quick idea of what to expect, you'll be simply astounded by the immense scale of the landscape at every turn, on each ascent/descent, at each lake and quebrada (a deep mountain valley), and at every snow-capped peak. Everything here is high, vast, steep, blue, green, yellow … it's all simply fantastic. After spending around ten days in this area I really didn't want to leave, even if it meant the chance to check my Facebook page – that should give you an idea of what a compelling place this is!
