To discover the Bacuit Archipelago, three main trips are offered from El Nido. On the agenda: exceptional lagoons surrounded by karstic cliffs, beaches of fine sand, huge caves, a few areas for snorkelling and other surprises. So, I tried the experience, which unfortunately left me very disappointed. Despite a gorgeous environment, it was difficult to appreciate it in the middle of countless tourists and even genuine traffic jams of bangkas (local boat/outrigger canoe).
The following day, I preferred to hire a kayak to explore one of the first islands in the archipelago. Located approximately twenty minutes from El Nido paddling, this effort was rewarded, as the first beaches were only frequented by a few brave people whilst those afterwards were just as deserted as they were luxurious! Lazing on the beach, a few dives with a mask and snorkel, lunch on a banana leaf... For a dream vacation, Paradise Beach and the beaches afterwards are ideal, but not just those!
I made a second trip in the archipelago, which was marvellous this time! The solution: hire a private bangka with some friends, motivate yourselves to get moving early in the morning and insist on not doing the same route as the other tourist boats. In this way, it's paradise!
