The Tierra del Fuego park was my favourite outing at Ushuaia. It's only a dozen kilometres west of the town but when you get there you suddenly leave behind all the bustle of civilisation and arrive in the natural peace and quiet of the end of the world.
I loved the beautiful scenery and its elemental force. On the southern border of the Park's 63,000 hectares is the majestic Beagle channel. The deep blue of its water makes a great contrast to the Park's bright green forests. The nature here has adapted to extreme temperatures.
And the Park's trails are suitable for everyone. Whether you are atrekker or just someone who likes a Sunday stroll, it's an unmissable trip if you want to feel the real magic of Tierra del Fuego.

Tierra del Fuego is legendary. When you go there you have the impression you are setting off on an adventure to conquer the ends of the earth. It's a land of big spaces, a hostile climate, wild lands that extend as far as the eye can see, scenery that is often sinister but always majestic.
I experienced that feeling of complete freedom that only travelling can bring. Silence reigns and imposes itself on you. It's so impressive it just leaves you speechless. Dry jagged mountains, black clouds, incredibly strong winds - there's no doubt that man is not the master here, so you make yourself as small as possible and contemplate in humble silence...Or at least that is how I felt when I was there.
More than anything you go to experience its special atmosphere. In any case, Tierra del Fuego is synonymous with adventure, whatever you do there. Walks in the forests, sailing with seals in the Magellan Strait, visiting the glaciers...It's a must for everyone during a trip to Argentina or Chile.
