It's more or less the only town to be found before Limón, a very bustling city 60 km to the south. It has nothing to attract tourists except perhaps for its traditional authenticity and its proximity to the Rio Pacuare, famous for its beauty and its rapids.
In Siquirres therefore, and because there are so few tourists in this area of Costa Rica, you can wander around amongst the local Ticos and blend in with the crowd. Among the nearby attractions, and if you want to get out into the wilds, I recommend the Tortuguero National Park, where you can observe the turtles laying their eggs (a wonderful experience), or the humid environment of the Barbilla National Park, with its gorgeous waterfalls.
