My suggestion
Take advantage of your time in Cahuita to familiarize yourself with Calypso, a wonderful Caribbean sound that you'll no doubt want to add to your play list. Guaranteed effect: you'll feel like you're on holiday all year round!

On the way to Puerto Viejo I suggest you get your camera out and stop at Cahuita to get really colorful pictures.
Cahuita is a small village in the province of Limon. It is bordered by the famous Cahuita National Park where you can see wild animals and go snorkelling. The beaches are very beautiful.
My suggestion
This small, brightly colored village with a laid-back Caribbean atmosphere is worth a detour, perhaps after a hike in the park, for example. Enjoy the white sand beach and the friendliness of the locals.
