Reviews of Abydos

Abydos is a famous necropolis , the main place of worship of Osiris.

My suggestion:
The most practical way of getting to Abydos is to go from Luxor, either by taxi or by train. Even if the nearest village is Al-Bayana, it is difficult to find accommodation there.
My review

A visit to the necropolis of Abydos is an excursion to go on while on a trip to Egypt

Once at Abydos, I suggest you visit the great temple of Seti I: one of Egypt's most complete temples. I was subjugated by this splendid and massive building. Imagine a monument entirely covered in sandstone, in the shape of an "L": a singular aspect in the architectural tradition of the time.

The great temple of Seti I is dedicated to principal divinities: Osiris, Isis, Horus, Amon-Re, Re-Horakhty and Ptah, as well as the pharaoh Seti I. Inside the temple, take the time to linger in the two hypostyle chambers for their bas relief and their imposing columns. From the second chamber, you will access the chamber of seven sanctuaries dedicated to the temple's divinities. Just behind the Seti I monument, stand the big blocks of granite of the Osirion and some yards away the Ramses II temple known for its bas relief.
