What to put in your suitcase when travelling in Georgia

Georgia is situated near the Caucasus, a part of the world that is little known and often left out of classic tourist routes. If you choose to explore this part of the world, a trip to Georgia should be exciting.

To give you an idea of what clothes you need, it's more or less the same as you would need if you were going to Turkey or Armenia. And of course it depends on the season when you are going on your trip. It is a continental climate, which means very cold in winter and very hot in summer. In the latter case you should think about some very light clothes for when the temperature goes up. Don't forget to bring a swimming costume for the beaches, and perhaps a quick swim in the blue waters of the Black Sea.

You should be very careful about preparing your first aid kit for your suitcase. Because there aren't many chemists once you are there, except in the capital Tbilisi. So remember to take the usual medicines for cleaning and treating everyday cuts and bruises. You should also take blister plasters if you are thinking about going trekking. And finally you need a good sun screen so you can tan safely.

If you want to be able to show your family and friends what this little known country is really like, you should take a camera and enough memory cards for all your photos. A credit card will be useful for withdrawing money and you can pay with it in some places.
