Holmavik is a pleasant village in the western fjords, famous for its witch museum.

My suggestion:
Set aside some time for it if you decide to visit the western fjords.
My review

Holmavik is located on the eastern slope of the western fjords. It is the first village of any importance in this part of the country and I stopped there during my visit to the region.

I remember Holmavik as a pleasant village with beautiful houses on the port and set among breathtaking fjords. I also enjoyed my visit to the witch museum, which mixes real stories and Icelandic folk myths. My visit ended with an excellent seafood soup at the adjacent restaurant, which at the time was the only one open in September, i.e. during the low season.

The village has a good bus service, which allows some visitors to come here even without a car.
