A remarkable Maya site in the middle of nowhere.

My suggestion:
Come equipped with a torch as visibility is poor in certain temples.
My review

As far as I am concerned, the Bonampak site is a pure wonder, not for its state of conservation, nor its architecture, but above all for its paintings. I found it fascinating to lose myself in the dark galleries, luckily I had a torch to uncover the colourful frescos so characteristic of Maya art one after the other. These are the most beautiful paintings that I was able to see during my stay in Mexico .

As is the case for Yaxchillan, the charm of the site resides in the peaceful blend of temples and nature. The grass has invaded the rock and the stones are not always stable, you need to be careful when climbing the stairs. The site's exceptional location is very pleasant, because it brings shade and breeze, so that despite the heat, you feel good and you can take all your time.

I also appreciated the efforts at documentation and information placed here and there which allow you to better understand the space. The Bonampak site fulfilled my expectations in terms of culture and nature, a real historical discovery in an ideal setting.
