The views are really fantastic. What's more, the park is easy to access from Johannesburg, Lesotho or Bloemfontein. The Golden Gate Highland National Parkis a bit of an African Far West!
The stratified rock formations with sandstone overhangs there are impressive, the stones are of all colours of the palette from white to red, passing through yellow, ochre... The enclosed area includes numerous animals, particularly herbivores: antelopes, black wildebeests and zebras, but also numerous birds.
I didn't come across many tourists in this zone, you quickly feel alone in the world on the walking paths.I really liked canoeing in the park's rivers. The guide was very proud of the discovery made in the park in the 1970s of two dinosaur embryos which are the oldest in the world, they would be 190 million years old!
