I found the village of Paternoster charming, made up of small, rather chic white houses. I came across many Capetonians who often spend the weekend there. Tourists do not stop here, so it is more authentic. I ate a huge lobster which was not very expensive, washed down with a good dry white wine, it was delicious!
Additionally the restaurant terraces are set on the edge of a large wild beach. The only drawbacks are that the beach is windy and the ocean rough, the currents are strong, it is not ideal for swimming.
There are many trails around Paternoster to go for a drive and enjoy the scenery. Take a trip to the nearby resort of Lambert's Bay, this is a very good spot if you enjoy surfing. I really liked the wild side of this place.
