Omaruru is a charming little town which can serve as a stopover in the region of Erongo or on the road to Damaraland during your stay in Namibia.

My suggestion:
Take some time to visit the local crafts shop.
My review

I stopped off in Omaruru on my way to Damaraland. I spent the night there in a guesthouse. Located in a rather wooded area for Namibia, the place supports local arts and crafts with a fine shop and you can also see the craftsmen at work not far from there. I particularly remember an artist working with bottle caps!

Otherwise, of interest to wine-lovers is the fact that the town also boasts a vineyard, the Kristall Kellerei, which is the only one that you can visit in the country.

There is an old German towerin the centre of Omaruru, which serves as a historic monument to celebrate a battle of the Hereros against German troops. In fact, the town is an important place for the Herero people.
